7 Comments:
Don't you *mess* with my Beck.
David Bazan is the guy in Pedro The Lion. There are some travesties on there -- Steve Earle above Bacharach, Ray Davies and Smokey Robinson? eff off.
Oh, and Elvis above Bowie? Dubious.
David Byrne beneath Jackson Browne. As my British bruthas might say, "You're havin' a laugh...ain'tcha?"
You're havin' a laugh at Ray Davies, Alex?
"Waterloo Sunset" is one of the greatest songs ever!!!
Wait...
I get it.
You are saying the three people that should not be below Steve Earle.
And Jackson Browne is terrible-ly important to Baby Boomers. Sistra V and I heard a whole rant/poem about the deeper meanings of The Pretender by a slightly drunk 55 year old.
"For a Dancer" and "These Days" alone should get JB in there. Although he belongs in the nineties somewhere. Also, "Somebody's Baby?" And I wasn't THAT drunk . . .
And John Lennon didn't make it at all? Am I blind? He's very good and someday he'll get the credit he deserves.
